Apple Releases Battery Update 1.2 for MacBooks

AppleApple released Battery Update 1.2, a small firmware update for the following MacBook laptops:

  • MacBook (Late 2006)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch Glossy)
  • MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo)
  • MacBook Pro (17-inch)
  • MacBook Pro (17-inch Core 2 Duo)

The firmware update is designed to improve battery functionality. The BatteryUpdater application will check to see if a battery needs to be updated on startup, wake from sleep, and when a battery is inserted. The update is available as a 242 KB standalone download.

Apple Security Update 2007-004

OS XApple released a security update (Security Update 2007-004) available for PPC, Universal, 10.4 and 10.3.9 client and server.

Security Update 2007-004 is recommended for all users. Just run the software updater. Apple menu -> Software Update.

AirPort Extreme Base Station Update

AppleApple has released the Apple Airport Extreme Base Station with 802.11n Firmware 7.1. This update includes general fixes, compatibility updates, and security improvements for the AirPort Extreme Base Station with 802.11n. This update requires AirPort Utility 5.1. If you have AirPort Utility 5.0 installed, you can update to AirPort Utility 5.1 by installing AirPort Base Station Update 2007-001:
